Case Study

OceansAdvance Inc. created The Canadian Women in Ocean Industries Leadership initiative aimed to increase women’s leadership and contribution to the industry by fostering a diverse talent pipeline. The initiative was a two day conference and trade show located in St.John’s Newfoundland, Canada.

This was the inaugural Canadian Women in Ocean Industries Leadership Conference and they needed to capture and share these important conversations so that a broader audience and those that could not attend could access them both in real time and for many months after
the event ended. The ultimate goal was to create a cadence of conversation for one full year to get them to next year’s conference.

  • An impressive and important thought leadership event was captured and shared.
  • A volume of content was created to last one full year.
  • An intern was mentored, empowered, and celebrated.
  • A very high standard was set for next years event.

Gale Force Wins was tasked to blend into the conference and capture the thoughts and conversations of attendees, keynote speakers, and leaders in the community. Incorporate Ocean Advance staff into the conversation as a co-host. Produce a volume of content that would allow the the story to be told for many months.

Over a one hour virtual discussion Gale Force Wins met with the marketing team to understand the themes they hoped to capture and sorted all logistics of time and space.
Gale Force Wins arrived on site in St.John’s NL and quickly scouted locations, set up all AV equipment for a static location, commenced roaming the show for mobile AV work to capture plenty of B-roll footage. Returning over a period of two days to complete all work on a very busy and active conference and trade show.

The highlight of the event was mentoring and incorporating a co-host Kelly-Anne
Snarby who went on to conduct over 44 interviews. See the playlist here.
