The Content Multiplier Effect: Multiple Videos from 1 Interview

The Challenge: Maximizing Your Video Investment When organizations invest in recording video content, they often publish the long-form interviews and stop there. However, a single video shoot has the potential to fuel a comprehensive, long-term social media campaign if the content is properly leveraged.

The Project: Discovery College Surrey Campus Graduation During the Discovery College Surrey Campus Graduation, #GaleForceWins was on location recording long-form interviews with attendees and graduates. To create a cohesive campaign that extended beyond the event itself, we asked each subject a strategic, unifying question: “Why choose a career college?”.

The Strategy: The Content Multiplier Effect Every time #GaleForceWins records on location for an organization, we look for “moments of inspiration” that can be clipped out. By extracting snippets and YouTube Shorts from longer interviews, we create multiple uses for the same content.

Here is how the content multiplier works:

  • Video Snippets: A standard 5-minute interview can easily contain 3 or 4 individual, 1-minute moments of inspiration that can be clipped and formatted into short-form social media posts. Click here to see the long form videos. Click here to see the Video Snippets from the longform.
  • Still Images: High-quality stills can be pulled from the video and paired with a transcript post.
  • The Math: If #GaleForceWins records 15 interviews on location, we can extract 3 YouTube Shorts and 1 still image from each. This gives you 4 posts per interview, translating into a massive campaign of 60 unique pieces of content.

The Results: A 16-Video Campaign By applying this extraction strategy to the Discovery College graduation, the simple prompt—“Why choose a career college?”—gave us the ability to build an entire campaign on top of the original interviews. We successfully extracted 16 individual videos from the longer conversations, creating a dedicated YouTube playlist that highlights the core value of the college.

Taking It Further: AI and Transcripts The content lifecycle doesn’t end with video clips and still images. Every interview comes with a transcript. By running these transcripts through AI engines, an organization can generate a host of further content—from blog posts and newsletters to pull-quotes and articles—ensuring that the insights captured on camera continue to generate value long after the recording stops.

The Takeaway With strategic planning and smart editing, a single day of interviews can easily yield months of engaging, multi-platform social media content.
