Larry Pittman was the CEO/Airport Manager at 5-Wing Goose Bay Airport on September 11th, 2001. Goose Bay Airport had to make quick, tactical decisions to house and accommodate 1000 stranded passengers in their time of need. Larry shares some of the behind the scenes that went into that decision making process. Larry is very proud to have served his country, as a uniformed military officer at the military base in Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada for a three year posting in the early 1990’s. On the 20th anniversary of September 11th, 2001 we have shared some passenger stories on our Gale Force Wins platform and we wanted to bring a behind the scenes leader who on that day and subsequent weeks, stepped up to fill the urgent need.
